CIFC Greater Danbury
Community Health Center
--Quality Assurance and Compliance
The CIFC/GDCHC has established a comprehensive Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program to assure that our Board of Directors, clinicians, employees and contractors conform to the highest medical, ethical and legal standards in providing quality health care to our patients and clients. CIFC/GDCHC complies with all federal and state laws and regulations, especially related to Medicare and Medicaid, government contracts and other government programs, with guidance from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and, above all, the highest standards of professional and business ethics.
The Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program relies on monitoring and auditing of internal systems and activities to verify compliance, to identify areas of risk and vulnerability, and areas of improvement, that lead to an ever higher quality of patient care. The program educates and trains directors, clinicians, employees and contractors on standards and procedures so that CIFC/GDCHC's expectations and commitment to quality and compliance are fully understood and adopted.
CIFC/GDCHC's Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program is administered by the Corporate Compliance Officer, who reports to the CEO. The Board Quality Assurance Committee, comprised of members of the Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. Board of Directors, works closely with the Corporate Compliance Officer.
All Quality and Compliance Reports are handled confidentially. State law and CIFC/GDCHC policy prohibits retaliation of any kind against anyone who makes an inquiry or files a report. CIFC/GDCHC will enforce standards of conduct fairly, and discipline violators without regard to their position in the organization.
